Concrete floors that have been painted or treated are much easier to keep clean than bare concrete floors, which absorb liquids and dirt to a greater extent in an untreated state.

In addition, a painted concrete floor is much nicer to look at and will create a more cosy atmosphere than the grey shades from concrete. In our selection of floor paint, we have many colours, so you can find just the colour that fits in with the rest of the decor.

Find the right paint for concrete floors

We produce different floor paints and have the floor paint for your specific needs. We have water, oil, EPOXY, or several one-component solid floor paints. Available in various colours and packaging sizes.

Which floor paint you choose also depends on what needs you have. Our EFAdeck ® H2O Floor paint is an obvious choice for painting garages, wooden floors and kitchens.

If more significant wear and chemical resistance are desired, our EFAdeck ®H2O HEAVY, EPOXY, is recommended. In addition, we offer similar oil-based alternatives, including our Alkyd floor paint Original 451.

Regardless of which solution you go with, at EFAFaint, we ensure quality products and uniformity. For example, our paint for concrete floors always has good coverage and long durability - and is designed for life.

Painting a concrete floor: How to get started

When you are going to paint a concrete floor, there are several things that you should be aware of. First, you must consider whether vibration-free concrete, also called floating concrete, or ordinary concrete.

This is very important for the further process, as vibration-free concrete requires several layers to saturate the floor properly. In addition, concrete usually takes a long time to dry, so you must be careful not to start too early. It may take a few months before your newly poured concrete floor is ready to receive paint.

How to paint a concrete floor - step-by-step

1. Preparation of the floor

Before you get down to painting the concrete floor, you must prepare the floor. It is about thoroughly cleaning dirt and superficial dirt, scraping away any varnish or paint residue and smoothing unevenness. You can use our EFAdeck ® primer for this.

2. Start maling ved hjørner og kanter

To ensure the very best result, where you won't be painting next to or on the wall, a good trick is to start with a smaller brush and use more caution when painting the corners and edges.

3. Painting work begins

Now it's just about getting started with painting the concrete floor. This can be done with the help of a slightly larger and broader paint roller with a long handle so that you do not have to sit on your knees when you have to paint. Let the first coat dry, then paint one more to ensure the most uniform and durable result.

4. Allow the floor to dry before loading it

It can take 24 hours before the paint is completely dry - and up to several days before it is completely hardened.
